About the Role

If you are looking for the next challenge in your career as a peer worker then this job is for you!

We are looking for an experienced peer worker (with mental health consumer or family/carer lived experience) to lead a team of peer workers in our new Mental Health and AOD Hub.  Based in the Emergency Department at Monash Medical Centre, you will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide peer support to consumers and their family members and carers attending the emergency Department with mental health and alcohol and dug challenges.

You will have experience of working in a lived experience role as a consumer or family/carer peer worker, and strong leadership skills including the ability to coach, mentor, and lead others.  You will have an excellent understanding of peer support principles, and experience of using your own lived experience appropriately to provide support and inspire hope in others.  As a team player, you will be able to establish strong, positive working relationships with the Emergency Department medical and nursing staff, mental health staff, alcohol and drug service staff, and allied health clinicians.
