About Aviary Ward, Monash Children’s Hospital at Monash Health, Clayton

Monash Health is the largest public health service in Victoria, employing over 18,000 people across a range of specialities.

Monash Children’s Hospital (MCH) cares for more than 100,000 children per year, providing care across the continuum of paediatric services from birth to 18 years of age.  It is one of the largest children’s hospitals in Australia and one of only two tertiary paediatric hospitals in Victoria. MCH is co-located next to Monash Medical Centre in Clayton and is a purpose-built paediatric facility where clinical services will be delivered in a child and family-friendly environment.

Ward 4B Aviary is MCH’s third Paediatric inpatient Ward. 4B Aviary is a Medical Specialties unit which includes Adolescent Medicine and Paediatric Rehabilitation. Aviary is a 32 Bed Ward, currently opened to 16 Beds with funding to open new beds.

About The Role 

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with clinical experience in Adolescent Medicine and Paediatric Rehabilitation combined with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and passionate about delivering exceptional patient centred care in a family friendly environment.

We currently have Part-time Ongoing and Fixed Term roles (64 Hours per fortnight / .8EFT) working across a 24/7 rotating roster.

  • A relevant Qualification
  • Paediatric clinical skills with Adolescent Medicine & Paediatric Rehabilitation ideal
  • Australian working rights
  • Current AHPRA registration

In accordance with recent Victorian Public Health directions all employees working in the Public Health system need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and be required to provide evidence of their vaccination status.   All candidates that are recommended for appointment will be required to provide evidence they meet the vaccination criteria.

This will be by providing  a copy of your immunisation history statement,  which can be accessed via My Gov, or evidence that you have a vaccination appointment before 1 November 2021.  This evidence will need to be uploaded to the E Recruit system.
