About Hospital in the Home

Monash HITH is Australia’s largest Hospital in the Home program. The HITH program has a multi-disciplinary medical, nursing and allied health staff. It manages patients with a broad range of acute medical conditions by providing care in the patient’s home and through three HITH clinics within the Monash Health network

Adult Hospital in the Home (HITH) provides acute hospital care in the comfort of the person's own home or other suitable environment, as an alternative to staying in a hospital bed. The patient must have a medical condition that can be safely managed in the community setting, with patients staying under their inpatient bed card but having governance shared with the HITH medical team. The service cares for patient with medical, surgical, oncology, haematology and palliative needs. HITH is undergoing an expansion to 200 beds and is currently the largest service in Australia.

About the Role
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe and effective person centred care, provide teaching and supervision of resident medical staff and students and undertake training towards attaining Fellowship of the relevant college.

About you
An experienced and enthusiastic medical officer with a vision for improving the provision of HITH services. You will also have excellent communication and time management skills, flexibility, an interest in challenging yourself and learning new skills.

What you need
The successful applicant should have:
• Broad ranging experience in medicine.
• Clinical experience in the management of HITH appropriate conditions is required
