Our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a state of the art 10-bed Unit with a complex patient mix and provides 24/7 care for critically ill children from babies to adolescents. Our PICU is one of only two tertiary paediatric intensive care units in Victoria and is staffed by highly trained doctors and nurses who specialise in intensive care to ensure the best possible outcomes for all children admitted.

About the role                                                                      

The Associate Nurse Manager (ANM) is a clinical leadership role with a clear focus on effective organisational and outstanding communications skills, working within an interdisciplinary acute Paediatric setting. This is an ongoing role working across a 24/7 environment providing leadership, clinical and mentoring support.

You have been growing your leadership skills or you are an accomplished ANM; either way, you are ready to take the next step in your Paediatrics Career. You lead by example, thrive working in a dynamic, fast paced environment and are truly dedicated to delivering a high standard of evidence based nursing care to all of our ill young patients.  You are ready to be part of our state-of-the art PICU team and have a genuine interest in mentoring and making a difference in the lives of your team, young patients and their families.

You are also:-

  • committed to a leadership & mentoring role
  • skilled in an acute setting in either Paediatrics/NICU/PICU &/or Adult ICU
  • dedicated to safe best practice & quality care
  • flexible to work across a 24/7 rotating roster
  • enthusiastic, compassionate & able to work collaboratively to deliver patient centre care

What you need

  • Post Graduate Qualifications in Paediatric/Critical Care Nursing
  • Minimum 12 months post qualifications in an acute/critical care setting, ideally in Paediatrics
  • Demonstrated leadership skills & experience
  • Willingness to take on a portfolio(s) contributing to ward quality improvements and National Standards
  • Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
  • Australian working rights
  • Current AHPRA registration
