About Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Department

The Monash Health Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery department is the busiest in Australia performing over 5000 procedures a year.

We have 22 consultant surgeons within the department who are all committed to education and training of junior staff within their chosen specialty.

About the Role - Senior Plastic Surgery Hospital Medical Officer (HMO)

Senior Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery HMO puts you in a great position to take the next step to Registrar

This is a position where you will work in a multi-disciplinary environment and be part of the largest plastic surgery unit in Australia.
6 months Paediatric plastics experience within Monash Children’s Hospital and 6 months Adult experience within the Plastics & Reconstructive unit

  • Coordinate HMO team in conjunction with the Plastics Registrars
  • Provide Safe and high quality person centred care for patients under your care
  • Ensure coordination of care for patients in your unit
  • Ensure timely and clear clinical communication including clinical handover with regards to patients under your care
  • Give guidance and direction to the rotating roster of residents
  • In your clinical practice demonstrate commitment to quality and safety and Monash Health’s “Patient first” initiative

About You:

  • You demonstrate the ability to complete your job in line with Monash Health I Care values
  • Ideally you will possess drive and passion to get to your goal of becoming a plastic & reconstructive surgery surgeon

What you need:

  • current general registration with AHPRA
  • employee working with children's check
  • Primary medical degree
  • Previous HMO experience in surgical streams
