We provide healthcare for the entire lifespan from pre-birth to palliative care and all stages in between, and we have recently opened the new 230-bed Monash Children’s Hospital.

About The Role

Our high quality security service is responsible to not only provide patients, visitors, staff with an environment which affords individual physical safety, and also the safeguarding of Monash Health property and emergency responses.

About You

Some of the things we’d like to see on your application include:

  • Previous experience as a Security Officer, ideally within a hospital/health setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current emergency response including the operation of fire panels, OWS and EWIS panels
  • Proven ability to negotiate and resolve conflict situations
  • Your commitment to provide Superior customer service to all stake holders makes you a desirable candidate, capable of working independently or as part of a team; and
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills to enable you to prepare incident and other reports to meet Police and legal requirements.

To be successful in obtaining this role, you will need to have;

  • Current Victorian Security Guard and Crowd Controller Licence
  • Certificate III in Security Operations Unarmed Guarding and Crowd Control
    OR Certificate II – Unarmed Guard and Crowd Control
  • Current Working with Children’s Check (or application in progress)
  • Current open or provisional Victorian Drivers Licence

Selection Criteria Do you currently hold a Certificate III in Security Operations PRS30103 (Unarmed Guarding & Crowd Control) or an equivalent CPP07 Certificate II qualification(Unarmed Guarding & Crowd Control)?

Are you a Licensed Security Officer and Crowd Controller with a current Victorian Security Licence?

Do you have a current Victorian Drivers Licence to operate a car? (open licence or provisional is acceptable)

Do you have basic computer skills including an ability to use email (Microsoft Outlook) and other common software applications such as MS Word and MS Excel?

Do you have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including an ability to speak English clearly and write English legibly

Do you have a background in hospital based security and are you able to provide at least TWO (2) work references from current or previous employers relating to hospital based security?

Can you provide evidence that you have a demonstrated knowledge, in a previous role, of primary emergency response, including the operation of Fire Panels, OWS panels and EWIS panels

It is a condition of employment that all Monash Health employees must undergo a police check and a clear result must be in place before commencing work. The police check is funded & conducted by Monash Health. Please acknowledge & agree to this essential criteria.

Do have experience in the following aspects of hospital based security? Electronic security systems (access control and CCTV), two way radio systems, conflict resolution and negotiation, mortuary duties and a demonstrated ability to control persons that may be violent or aggressive.
