About the Service

ACIS {Formerly CATT} is at the front end of service delivery with the priority to help a person to remain in or return to their local community as quickly as possible.  Interventions are tailored to individual consumer and family needs as well as circumstances.

ACIS provides front line mental health assessment and care for consumers with acute mental health concerns and/or high risk profiles. Psychologists employed within ACIS work in a multidisciplinary team environment, including clinicians and medical staff. Clinicians work in two shifts per day and may be psychiatric nurses, social workers, or occupational therapists.  Medical staff include medical officers, psychiatric registrars, and consultant psychiatrists. Casey ACIS staff value the input of psychologists and access them for primary and secondary consultations, as well as case discussions.

ACIS sits alongside the Emergency Psychiatric Service (EPS), operating from the Casey Emergency Department and Mental Health and Police Service (MHaPS) providing a service operating from Narre Warren Police Station.

This position will benefit ACIS consumers by assisting with comprehensive assessment, collaborative treatment design, and appropriate referrals to other service providers.
