About the role

The Nurse Coordinator (NCO) is an essential and valued member of the senior management team at Monash Health.

The NCO leads and oversees operational duties of the site in the after‐hours period (evenings, overnight and weekends), in the absence of the Director of Nursing and Midwifery (DoNM).  The NCO is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient management of site resources in order to achieve a high standard of nursing and patient centred care in accordance with legislation and regulations as set out in Monash Health and Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) practice and professional standards.  The NCO maintains a patient centred focus, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of staff and patients are priority.  The NCO is responsible for reporting and escalating all clinical and non‐clinical risks, both actual and ‘near miss’. 

In the after‐hours period at Monash Health Clayton, there are 2 NCOs.  Each will be allocated responsibility of a site.

In accordance with recent Victorian Public Health directions all employees working in the Public Health system need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and be required to provide evidence of their vaccination status.   All candidates that are recommended for appointment will be required to provide evidence they meet the vaccination criteria.

This will be by providing a copy of your immunisation history statementwhich can be accessed via My Gov, or evidence that you have a vaccination appointment before 1 November 2021.  This evidence will need to be uploaded to the E Recruit system.
