Position Summary

Monash Medical Centre Social Work Department is looking for an experienced Grade 2 social worker to join the team working in the Obstetrics Unit. This position is part-time and is part of a flexible team who collaborate to provide a holistic approach to service delivery. This clinical role provides an opportunity to showcase your skills in working with people from a range of diverse backgrounds as well as completing complex psycho-social assessments and development of patient centred care plans.

This role is located within the bed-based team with a focus on Monash Women’s clinical area and requires participation in the Emergency Department and on-call rosters.

Social Work Services

The Social Work team across Monash Health is responsible for the delivery of a broad range of Social Work services for clients across the lifespan in the inpatient and outpatient setting.   

About the Role

Clayton Social Work Department is looking for an experienced grade 2 Clinician to lead the Women’s team based at Monash Medical Centre.

You will be a dynamic, innovative and flexible practitioner with a good knowledge of resources, have a good understanding of child protection and referral networks. You will be able to demonstrate skills in psycho-social assessments, problem solving, communication and hospital discharge planning.

Monash Health offers access to profession specific, inter-disciplinary, relevant health and welfare education and encourages participation in quality and research activities.

You must be eligible for AASW membership including continuing professional education and hold a current driver’s licence and Working with Children’s Check.

  • Deliver and drive Monash Health strategic intent to be relentless in our pursuit of excellence across Social Work and Allied Health.
  • Work closely with the Social Work Manager to provide streamlined services across all campuses and lead designated services/programs/portfolios.
  • Located at MMC in Clayton, travel is also required across other Monash Health sites.

What you need

  • Proven experience in providing social work in acute settings.
  • Knowledge and experience working closely with an inter-professional teams.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
