About our Acute Community Intervention Service at Monash Health

The Acute Community Intervention Service (ACIS) provides timely comprehensive assessment and delivers evidence-based treatment in the most appropriate setting at the ‘front end’ of service delivery. This includes short-term interventions and treatment for those whose illness can be readily managed in the community, as well as seamless engagement with longer-term care for those with relapsing or enduring conditions.  

The Role   

We currently have a Fixed Term to February, 2020, for a Part Time position for an acute Clinician.

Based at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, our services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The successful candidate for this position will be required work a rotating roster over seven days per week, 24 hours per day, in accord with core service demands required to work across night shifts.

The role will include establishing positive working relationships which will extend to other parts of our mental health program, external agents and of course our clients. Your role will be to assess, in any setting, persons referred to ACIS:

  • To plan, implement, and review treatment and support for each case; and
  • To provide treatment and support in the community wherever possible.

About You

As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse with demonstrated experience within acute adult mental health and chronically mentally ill people with a range of disorders, you are able to provide support to our clients and their family/carers and providing education as needed in a critical timeframe.  

You have first class interpersonal and problem solving skills, with a passion and interest into acute mental health to provide outstanding service to our clients.  We are seeking for you to have;

  • Post graduate studies within Mental Health (Highly Regarded)
  • Employee Working with Children Check
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence is essential
