Mental Health Program

Monash Health Mental Health Services provides a range of community, bed-based and specialist services covering the Casey, Cardinia, Greater Dandenong, Kingston and Monash LGAs – a population of nearly one million.  It has an operational budget of $130 million and employs approximately 820 EFT, representing over 1000 staff.

Psychology and Specialist Services (PsySS) in the Mental Health Program runs a number of programs across Monash Health including the agile Psychological Medicine and agile Comprehensive Care providing psychological treatment and psychotherapy to patients within the mental health program.

About you

You are an experienced, energetic and determined in whatever clinical work you have undertaken.  You’re serious about psychological teatment, its evidence base, and its contributions to the lives of those in need. You are committed to mentoring and supervising other psychologists to improve clinical practice. Your track record includes demonstrated success in the following areas

  • Undertaking clinically effective psychological treatments with individuals and working with their families/caregivers
  • Proven ability to develop and implement treatment programs
  • A commitment to access and service provision in public health to psychological treatments
  • Supervision of staff and post-graduate psychology students
  • Previous experience in continuous improvement including measuring clinical effectiveness, and undertaking quality and research initiative

You are highly motivated and thrive on the challenge of supporting and developing clinical programs.  Naturally you have strong written and verbal communication skills, you are an active listener and possess well developed negotiation and influencing abilities that will be used in working with internal and external stakeholders to develop clinical pathways

What you need

  • Current general registration as psychologist with the PsyBA AHPRA
  • PsyBA endorsement in Clinical or Forensic Psychology
  • PsyBA registration to supervise post-graduate program students and Psychology registrars
  • Working with Children’s Check
  • Proven significant clinical experience
