Dandenong Hospital is excited to announce an opportunity for a professional Patient Services Assistant to join our leadership team within General Services at Dandenong Hospital.

About our Support Services at Monash Health

Support Services forms one of the largest employee groups providing services throughout the clinical and non-clinical areas of Monash Health.  The Environmental Services Assistant role is responsible for maintaining to the highest level, environmental and clinical cleaning standards in line with established infection control policies and procedures.

About You

You are a professional and dedicated Patient Services Assistant with a demonstrated track record in reliability and high performance.  You are a natural leader with the ability to lead and inspire a team.  You are customer focused with good communication skills. You understand and value relationships with internal stakeholders.  You stand apart from the crowd and are committed and conscientious in your approach to your employment, taking pride in your personal presentation and conduct and the outcome of your work.

You also

  • Are a natural leader with great communication skills
  • Offer a high level of demonstrated experience in customer/patient service
  • Have an excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures in a healthcare setting
  • Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
  • Have a sound understanding of key PSA functions including patient identification, patient manual handling, portering and cleaning

 What you need

  • Have a current National Criminal Record Check (dated within 3 months of application)
  • Have a current Working With Children's (employee) check
  • Australian working rights
  • Certificate 3 in Health Services Assistant
  • Current Victorian Drivers License (desirable)

In accordance with recent Victorian Public Health directions all employees working in the Public Health system need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and be required to provide evidence of their vaccination status.

All candidates will be required to provide evidence of full vaccination. You will need to provide a copy your immunisation history statement which can be accessed via My Gov.  The evidence will need to be uploaded as part of your application.

Demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills.

Service-oriented with proven experience providing service to patients and public.

Current Patient Services Certificate - Level 3

An excellent level of verbal & written communication skills

Intermediate digital literacy

Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling

Current Working with Children’s Check and subject to a clear Police Check

Excellent understanding of infection control procedures

Must be available to work every Saturday and Sunday
