About SMICS

Southern Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service (SMICS) is one of nine Victorian Integrated Cancer Services (VICS). VICS are clusters of hospitals and associated health organisations that plan and improve cancer services within a geographic region to build relationships, implement best practice models of care and improve the effectiveness of cancer care.

SMICS is hosted by Monash Health, Victoria’s largest public health service. We are located at Monash Cancer Centre, Moorabbin Hospital, in East Bentleigh. Monash Health employs over 18,000 people to provide healthcare across the lifespan to one quarter of Melbourne’s population. SMICS is a joint initiative of Alfred Health, Cabrini Health, Peninsula Health and Monash Health and a member of the Monash Partners Comprehensive Cancer Consortium (MPCCC).

About the Role

As a SMICS Senior Project Manager you will be involved in a range of service improvement initiatives across southern Melbourne to implement Victoria’s Cancer Plan and the nationally endorsed Optimal Cancer Care Pathways. Frequent travel between SMICS member health services will be required.

You will be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of effective working relationships with key stakeholders and networks and provide leadership and management for the planning, implementation and evaluation of quality and redesign projects.

Your qualifications, skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in a healthcare discipline or related area relevant to the position.
  • Experience in a relevant project management role with a proven track record of project management success.
  • High level knowledge and experience within a complex service system related to change management, redesigning care and quality improvement projects.
  • understanding of the healthcare system, including knowledge of issues relating to the provision of quality healthcare services.
  • Current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
