Our Journey:

Monash Health Emergency Departments (ED) treat over 200,000 emergency patients a year at Monash Medical Centre Clayton campus, Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of something special as we are expanding and upgrading our Emergency Services across Monash Health. Our three ED’s include:-

  • Casey Hospital – Acute Emergency Department treating both Adult & Paediatric patients. Casey Hospital has undergone an extensive redevelopment enabling us to provide care for a fast-growing Emergency Department with onsite access to ICU, Medical, Surgical, Paediatric, Mental Health & Maternity and will continue to grow its services as it is the growth corridor of Victoria. The department has commenced planning and design for the funded ED expansion due for completion by end 2026
  • Dandenong Hospital – Acute Emergency department treating both Adult & Paediatric patients. Onsite access to ICU, Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Mental Health, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Paediatrics & Women’s Health ranging from start of life to end of life care. The department is also exemplary in commencing a Candidacy program for Nurse Practitioners for those that wish to grow their career in this area. 
  • Monash Medical Centre – Tertiary level department with separate Adult & Paediatric clinical areas. Onsite access to Tertiary Level Higher Care for Paediatrics as well as Neurosurgery and a diverse range of specialist support services. MMC’s Emergency Department has undergone a redevelopment to include a dedicated Children’s Emergency as well as completing an expansion to the existing service to adults. This also included additional Short Stay Beds, and a dedicated Mental Health hub.

We currently have numerous positions across our three ED’s. To be considered, you must have experience in acute/critical care, are passionate about delivering outstanding patient centred emergency care and able to work across a 24/7 rotational roster.

Positions available include Ongoing, either Full or Part Time opportunities.

About you

You’re a passionate registered nurse that will thrive on the challenge that comes from working in a fast paced setting, knowing you are well supported by highly skilled Nursing, Medical, Allied Health and Administrative teams. Working collaboratively within the team environment, sharing knowledge and learning as you grow your career in Emergency and provide best practice and safe patient centred care. 

To ensure your success in this role, you will have following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

Post graduate certificate or diploma in Emergency Nursing is highly regarded but not essential
Demonstrated acute experience is essential and Emergency/Critical Care clinical skills are highly regarded
Commitment to providing evidence based, patient and family centred care. 
Proven time management skills
Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster
Current AHPRA registration and eligibility to work in Australia
