About Us

The Monash Health Pathology Service operates under the brand name of Monash Pathology and is an integral part of Monash Health. It is one of the largest providers of Pathology services in the state and currently operates 5 laboratories. The largest of these is located at the Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, with additional facilities being located at the Dandenong, Moorabbin, Casey and Wonthaggi Hospitals. 

Services are provided to the Public and Private sectors, and other laboratory services.

About the Role 

A position exists for a Medical Scientist Grade 1 within the Haematology Unit at the Clayton site. The laboratory offers a 24 hour service and the successful applicant will be required to participate in shift and on call work.  The position involved night shifts and evening shifts. The successful applicant will be expect to work in Routine Haematology, Coagulation and Blood Bank areas.

This is an on-going part time position of 56 hours per fortnight.

What You Need

The successful applicant will have a Degree in Applied Science (MLS) or recognised equivalent. Routine Haematology, Morphology, Coagulation and Blood Bank laboratory experience will be essential.

Selection Criteria Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Laboratory Medicine) or recognized equivalent

Experience in working in Routine Haematology, Morphology, Coagulation and Blood Bank

Applicant must agree to work a monthly rotational roster including night shift and evening shift.
