IT Development Manager, MCHRI (Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation)

  • An exciting opportunity is now available for a motivated and enthusiastic professional to join the MCHRI team. The IT Development Manager position utilises specialist knowledge to deliver high-quality IT software design & development for various research projects.

  • Fixed-term, part-time appointment (0.5EFT/19 hrs), with possibility of extension

  • Based at MCHRI, 43-51 Kanooka Grove, Clayton

About MCHRI

Located at Monash Health within the Monash Health Translation Precinct, the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (MCHRI) is a collaborative partnership between Monash University and Monash Health. MCHRI utilises public health research as well as the translation and implementation of clinical, health services and public health knowledge, underpinned by cross sector end user engagement, to deliver health impact.  MCHRI's core themes include Women's and Children's Public Health Research, Diabetes and Vascular Medicine, both of which cover clinical, health services and public health research, an Implementation and Healthcare Improvement Program and a Research Methodologies Platform, both specifically targeting and strengthening the clinical research programs.

MCHRI engages broadly with the Government, the Academic Health Sciences Centre, University Faculties, Independent Institutes, NGOs and community groups, patients and community to bring a breadth of expertise and perspectives to address challenges in health, to drive innovation and to deliver improved patient experience and health outcomes.

About the Role

The IT Development Manager plans, directs, and coordinates all activities related to writing web-based software applications upon various project needs within the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (MCHRI).  Collaborate with MCHRI health science translational researchers

  • Manage the activities of the software development of various research projects
  • Manage IT operations of launched web applications developed and maintained within MCHRI
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in project co-ordination and management, including familiarity with all the policies, procedures and technical issues related to software design and development

This role is a part-time contract position; flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

About You

The professional, tertiary qualified candidate we are seeking will be experienced in IT software design and development, with an ability to demonstrate evidence of real-world delivery of solutions and platforms. Sound analytical and problem-solving skills is essential, along with demonstrated high-level organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage time, plan work to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.  As this is a research based role, you must also possess a demonstrated understanding of confidentiality, privacy and information handling principles.

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline;
  • 2+ years’ experience in IT development, preferably at an enterprise level
  • Current working with children’s check (employee, not volunteer)
