Chestnut Gardens is seeking a 12 month part time Administration Officer.

About Chestnut Gardens Nursing Home and Monash Health

Monash Health is a large organisation consisting of seven public hospitals, 21 community health sites, and five aged care facilities. With university affiliated international research and tertiary education. Monash Health provides healthcare for the entire lifespan from pre-birth to palliative care and all stages in between.

Chestnut Gardens, Doveton, is home to 100 high care residents and utilises the latest in care and design philosophies. Chestnut Gardens is built as a series of houses, each with its own decor. 

Our residential care team at Chestnut Gardens work either in ‘The Avenue’ or ‘The Boulevard’ with residents with chronic physical and/ or mental health care conditions. To ensure the best care, those that live at Chestnut Gardens work in collaboration with a skilled nursing group in developing person centred care. Assisting both The Avenue and The Boulevard are a team of support services and admin.

About The Role 

The Administration Officer plays key role within Chestnut Gardens, providing a welcoming face to the home for those living, visiting, and working in the home. Working in a busy environment the Administration Officer provides efficient and effective administration support to the staff of Chestnut Gardens and assistance to those visiting the home. The Administration Officer contributes to optimum communication and actively contributes to the smooth and efficient functioning of the home environment.

This role starts at 7am, 3 to 5 days a week.

About You

You have highly developed administration skills with an eye for detail. You are an excellent communicator and able to work across a number of complex systems. You will be able to:

  • Assist in the coordination and reconciliation of brokered services including liaison with suppliers for the routine purchase and delivery of health service supplies and services
  • Organise stock control, order and maintain forms, client identification labels, stationery, equipment and stores as require
  • Prepare reports for use by management
  • Maintain data collection as required for the program and reporting to Commonwealth Departments

What You Need:

  • Current and satisfactory Working With Children Check as per Working With Children Act 2005
  • Current and satisfactory Police Check (must also comply with Aged Care Act 1997 Accountability Amendment Principles 2012 if working in Aged Care settings)
  • Previous experience in a similar role (desirable)
  • Certificate/Diploma in Health Administration or similar or working towards (desirable)
  • Familiarity with medical terminology (desirable)
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence
