An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and highly experience Director of Infectious Diseases to join our Infectious Diseases department. 

About The Unit 

Monash Children's Paediatric Urology provides tertiary Paediatric Urology care for approx. 1/3 of the State of Victoria. Our unit is four Paediatric Urologists and provides services across the full scope of Paediatric urology, Antenatal care, Upper tracts, Minimally invasive, Spina bifida and functional urology, endo-urology (including stones), & oncology. We work closely with nephrology and endocrinology services to provide surgical support. Whilst we maintain close clinical links with the Department of Paediatric General Surgery our department members are appointed into an exclusively Paediatric Urology scope of practise.

Details of the role 

Hours: Fractional 0.8 FTE (31 hours per week) 

Employment: Fractional Ongoing 

About You 

The successful applicant will have broad experience and capability across the spectrum of tertiary paediatric urology. They will demonstrate clinical competence broadly in Paediatric Urology. They will also have strong professional skills and be capable of working well within the unit and the broader hospital community to deliver high quality care.

We seek to appoint an individual who will bring or develop a strong sub-specialty interest within the department such as lower tract reconstruction, minimally invasive/robotics, oncology, antenatal counselling/intervention, endo-urology/stones, transition of care, functional urology etc. An interest in quality improvement, teaching, research and service development is highly desirable. 

What you need: 

Medical Specialist/Consultant (Senior Medical staff): 

  • A medical qualification from a registered tertiary institution and Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) with a current annual practicing certificate is essential. 
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Paediatric Surgery or Urology (FRACS or equivalent) including maintenance of CPD and good standing as required by AHPRA for the maintenance of Specialist Registration. 
  • Appropriate post fellowship training in Paediatric Urology &/or an established scope of practice in tertiary Paediatric Urology. 
  • All applicants must be awarded Scope of Clinical Practice by the Monash Health Credentialing committee.  Information presented for application will be presented to the committee during the selection process, and all appointments are subject to maintenance of SoP within the clinical services capability framework in the facilities in which clinical work is to be undertaken.  This process must be completed prior to offer of employment. 
  • Appointment to these position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties. 

Other Requirements: 

  • Current Drivers Licence 
  • As we support a culture of safety through employee immunisation, there must be documentation provided confirming completed immunisation on employment at Monash Health 
  • Applicants who are new to Monash Health will be required to enter into an Employment Agreement before commencement.
