About Psychology and Rehabilitation and Aged Care Services (RACS)

Monash Health is one of the leading employers of psychologists in Victoria with approximately 180 psychologists employed in a variety of areas.

The RACS Psychology services comprises of Clinical, Neuropsychology and Health Psychologists, who work within the multidisciplinary teams across the inpatient subacute, and aged persons' mental health wards at Kingston, Casey and Dandenong hospitals. The psychologists provide a face to face service to patients on these wards.

About the Role

RACS Senior Neuropsychologists deliver high quality, evidenced based assessment to adults and older adults in the subactue inpatient wards (neurorehabilitation and GEM) and aged persons' mental health wards. The Grade 3 Senior Neuropsychologist will undertake a dvierse role of triaging, and providing neuropsychological assessment and recommendations to patients (and carers) with cognitive, behavioural, psychological, and/or discharge planning. Diagnostic assessments, behaviour management, and assessment of decision-making capacity are common, and neuropsychologists also provide secondary consultation to a broad range or relevant stakeholders. The Grade 3 role includes supervision of Grade 2 neuropsychologists and registrars/students, delivering staff education and training, and undertaking quality improvement projects.

The role is permanent and 0.6 EFT (or 3 days per week) and flexible, family friendly hours are supported. The position is located at Casey (2 sub-acute wards) and Dandenong (1 aged persons' mental health ward).

About You

You enjoy working in a team environment and can also work autonomously. You have a keen focus on fostering relationships to improve service provision and deliver patient centred care. Your ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, to a wide audience is a core competency for this position, along with excellent time management skills and knowledge in working with adult and older adult patients with complex issues. You have a strong desire to deliver evidence-based psychological assessment that can be measured for effectiveness.
